Trivia[]
- Date's car is a Ford Falcon. It's commonly believed that the actual model of Date's car is a Ford Falcon '89, since the name matches the two codenames attributed to Hayato Yagyu: the names Falco and Inmate #89. However, the car model itself matches closer to a Ford XA Falcon GT-HO, released in '72.[1][2]
- During the second investigation segment in the chapter Day 2: Saturday –saikAI–, if you examine the Rearview Mirror twice, Date and Iris play The Name Game using the word "meanie." The Name Game originates from the 1964 song "The Name Game" by Shirley Ellis[3], and has since become a common rhyme played by schoolchildren. As Date states that he can't believe he still remembers this song, it's possible that he used to play the Name Game with Iris herself 6 years ago, during the time he was dating Hitomi and before he got amnesia.
- There are two variations of the item dialogue for the Rearview Mirror at the third driving segment of Day 4: syuurAI. If you inspected the Rearview Mirror on the second driving segment of Day 2: saikAI, Date responds to Iris's "You're gonna make me aggro!" with "What?" However, if you didn't inspect it, then Date responds with "You keep saying that, I have no idea what that means..."[4] This variation in text, however, is curious for two reasons:
- The two variations are actually flipped. The second line, where Date says "You keep saying that," is meant to be a continuation of his first interaction with Iris at the Rearview Mirror, while the "What?" is a surprised reaction to hearing the phrase for the first time. However, the lines were flipped, either on purpose or accidentally, resulting in the context for both being inverted.
- Iris's line "You're gonna make me aggro!" is based on her catchphrase commonly used throughout the game and within the Lemniscate YouTube series, which is originally ぷんすかぽんこら (Punsukaponkora) in Japanese. The phrase ぷんすかぽんこら is used in the original Japanese text when investigating the Rearview Mirror in Day 2: saikAI, which correlates to Date recognizing the phrase again in Day 4: syuurAI, but in the localization this specific usage of the phrase ぷんすかぽんこら in saikAI is changed to "Mr. Date! Hmph! You're a meanie...", as lead-up to the joke about The Name Game, as written above.[5]
